YOU'RE NOT A BURDEN FOR NEEDING PEOPLE

You've convinced yourself that reaching out makes you too much — but the truth is, you were never too much, you were just alone.

You've gotten good at saying "I'm fine."

Too good. You say it before anyone even asks. You say it with a smile that took years to learn. You say it so no one has to carry the weight of the real answer.

Somewhere along the way you decided that your struggle was a bill nobody should have to pay. That needing people made you heavy. That if you let them see how tired you actually are, they'd quietly start looking for the exit.

So you shrink. You handle it alone at 4 in the afternoon when the house goes quiet and the noise in your head gets loud. You tell yourself everyone's busy. Everyone's got their own thing. Don't be the one who needs.

Needing people isn't weakness. It's the oldest human thing there is.

But here's what the fear never tells you: the people who love you aren't keeping a tab. They're not measuring how much you cost them. The ones worth having would rather carry a little of your weight than watch you disappear under it while pretending you're okay.

You were not built to do this by yourself. Nobody was. The strongest person you know leans on someone when the lights go out — you just never see it, because they learned the same lie you did.

So today, do the terrifying thing. Send the text you keep deleting. Say the sentence that starts with "I'm actually not okay." Let one person in, even a crack. You don't have to explain all of it. You just have to stop carrying all of it alone.

And if the weight feels like more than you can hold right now — if some part of you is wondering whether anyone would notice you gone — please tell someone you trust, or reach out to a local support line tonight. You matter more than the quiet has convinced you. You are worth the phone call.

You are allowed to take up space. You are allowed to need. You are allowed to be a whole person with hard days and still be loved through every one of them. That's not being a burden. That's being human.

Whatever you're holding today, you don't have to hold it in silence. There are people out here holding the same thing — some of them have written it down on the journal wall.

You are not alone. Keep moving forward.
