YOU'RE NOT BROKEN. YOU'RE NUMB.

The heavy days get all the attention, but sometimes the hardest battle is feeling nothing at all — and even that isn't permanent.

Nobody warns you about the quiet kind of pain.

Not the crying kind. Not the falling-apart kind. The other one — where you wake up, move through the day, answer the texts, and feel almost nothing at all.

You smile in the photo. You say "I'm good" and mean nothing by it. You scroll for an hour looking for something to make you feel — and close the phone emptier than you opened it.

You used to feel everything. Music hit different. A good day actually meant something. Now the volume on your whole life has been turned down to a hum, and you can't find the dial.

You're not lazy. You're not cold. You're not "over it." You've just been carrying more than you had the strength to feel, so something inside you did the only thing it could — it went quiet to protect you.

That's not weakness. That's survival.

Numb isn't the absence of feeling. It's feeling so much for so long that your heart had to sit down and rest.

But here's the part nobody tells you in the dark: numb is a place, not a home. You are not staying here.

The feeling comes back slow. A song you forgot you loved. A laugh that surprises you. The sting of tears you thought had dried up for good. It doesn't return all at once — it returns in pieces, on a day you didn't plan for.

And the fact that you want to feel again? That's the proof. People who've truly given up don't ache for the ache back. You do. That quiet wish to feel something — anything — is your heart still beating under all that armor.

So be gentle with the version of you that's just getting through. Eat something. Step outside. Tell one person — someone you trust — "I've been feeling kind of empty lately." Or write it down where others have written the same, on the journal wall. You don't need the perfect words. You just need to stop carrying it alone.

You are still in there. Under the fog, under the flat and the far-away, the real you is waiting — and they haven't gone anywhere.

The color comes back. Give it time. Give yourself time.

You are not alone. Keep moving forward.
