TIRED IN A WAY SLEEP CAN'T FIX

The exhaustion that no amount of sleep touches isn't weakness — it's the sign you've been carrying too much, alone, for too long.

You slept. Eight hours, maybe more. And you woke up just as heavy as when you closed your eyes.

This is a different kind of tired. It doesn't live in your body. It lives somewhere sleep can't reach.

You know the feeling. The bone-deep kind. The kind where getting through a normal day feels like wading through water. Where a text you need to answer sits for three days because replying feels like lifting something heavy.

People keep telling you to rest. But you did rest. And the tired stayed.

Here's what nobody says out loud: this isn't the tired of a long day. It's the tired of a long season. Of holding it together for weeks. Of being the strong one, the reliable one, the one who doesn't fall apart. Of carrying things you never agreed to carry, quietly, without ever setting them down.

Sleep fixes the body. It was never going to fix the weight.

You're not lazy. You're not weak. You're just carrying more than one person was ever meant to carry alone.

And that word matters — alone. Because this kind of tired grows in isolation. It feeds on I've got it, I'm fine, don't worry about me. It gets heavier every time you swallow what you're feeling instead of saying it.

So maybe the answer isn't to push harder. Maybe you've been pushing so long you forgot the pushing was the problem.

Maybe the answer is smaller and harder than that. To set one thing down. To say the true sentence out loud to one person who's safe. To let someone carry a corner of it with you.

You don't have to explain the whole weight. You just have to stop pretending it isn't there.

Tell someone you trust that you're worn all the way through. Write it down somewhere — even on the journal wall, where a stranger who feels exactly this will read it and know they're not the only one.

The tank refills. Not all at once. Not tonight. But the moment you stop pretending you're full, it starts.

Rest your body tonight. And tomorrow, start setting down the things you were never meant to hold by yourself.

You are not alone. Keep moving forward.
